Mission:
The International Institute for Suburban and Regional Studies was founded by business, education, and community leaders as a forum for global and local cooperation. The Institute is an independent nonprofit academic/applied organization that initiates and coordinates the consulting, research, educational, and publishing activities of its associated centers. Currently, 19 centers and working/research groups in 16 countries are affiliated with the Institute. Among the involved countries are Austria, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Poland, South Korea, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine, and the USA.
Focus:
The Institute works with governments, public and private universities, and businesses in a myriad of ways. It provides services in consulting, research, education, and publishing; utilizing the best available technical assistance form its cooperative network of international experts. In all of its activities, the Institute strives to foster close cooperation between local and global resources and the need of client organizations.
